Small Groups

Growing Closer to God and Others

The Adult Ministry at University Church happens in Small Groups that meet both in person and online. A Small Group is a gathering of people of a similar age and stage of life. There may be those just beginning to explore God, while others might have a rich history in the Christian faith. In-person small groups meet at least twice a month, usually in a home or a coffee shop, for food, fellowship, Bible study, and prayer. Or if you’re not in the local area or prefer to gather remotely, online small groups are also available. And don’t worry, when you’re part of a small group you will not be put on the spot or expected to speak, lead, or pray aloud. Volunteers who feel comfortable doing so will lead the discussion or host the gathering.

Small Groups are great for adults and families alike. Register for a Small Group using the form below.

What’s a Small Group?

A small group is an essential part of practicing faith and growing in a supportive community. Every small group is designed to fit a specific need.

One small group may not fit for you, so try another! The main goal of small groups ministry is to connect people to Christ and each other. It’s as simple as that. The second purpose is to develop deeper friendships within the body of Christ so that we don’t have to walk through life alone.

How it works:

University Church offers a variety of small groups. Every small group meets based on what works for the group. Small groups are led by a trained leader. Resources and curriculum are approved by the pastor and discipleship team for Biblical integrity. Persons are welcome to join small groups in a variety of ways. Small groups rotate approx. every 6 weeks in order to start new studies and allow others to join other groups.
